The Archer Family left College Park, Maryland about five years ago and moved to Deep Creek Lake. The best part about western Maryland besides the mountains, the sunset and the natural beauty is the slower pace of life. It’s so nice to be a part of the small town atmosphere, everyone knows everyone.

With dreams of starting a family business the Archer family: David and Debbie and sons Anthony, Kevin and Asa moved to Garrett County. We thought about buying an existing business or franchise, but in the end we decided the best way to make good food was to start our own restaurant. The Archer's always liked to cook, enjoyed preparing family recipes and most importantly we liked to eat!! The shoe seemed to fit. Archie's BBQ was born. The family wrote a business plan, did research, designed and built the restaurant. Everyone in the family plays an important role in Archie's success. Oldest son, Anthony is the operations manager and takes care of the restaurants day to day needs. The middle son, Kevin operates the big smoker and handles most of the catering. Youngest son, Asa is only fifteen and has been so instrumental by assisting at festivals during the summer. Debbie, "the Mom" helps out where ever it's needed and is the rock that keeps the family centered. So if your in the mood for some great BBQ come on in and see the family.

Archie’s BBQ celebrated four years in October and thanks everyone for their continuous patronage! We are committed to providing exceptional quality, service and overall experience at the restaurant on the road at festivals and at our private catering events.

On June 26, 2010, our family lost David Archer. We love you and miss you and will continue to build the family dream of “Archie’s BBQ”.
